So, I found a tick on my puppy today,?

and my mom successfully removed the body part of the tick by heating up scissors on the stove and cutting it off, but the head was still inside my puppy's skin and my mom couldn't remove that part cause it was in there pretty good. Is it bad that it's still in there, could something bad happen??
