BP's new drilling site- good or bad?
the permit for BP's Liberty drilling project ready for Secretary Salazar to make a decision whether or not pass the permit allowing BP to basically get around every drilling law about offshore drilling by building a man-made gravel island and building a path to land so its "Part of land" technically then stick down a drill and extend it sideways for miles into the ocean and drill for oil in the Beautfort Sea off Alaska's north coast. it would become the longest ultra-extended reach well in the owrkd if passed. there has never been anything quite like it and no official tests have been done to prove it safe or unsafe or whether it would be harmful to the environment and wildlife in Alaska. Should it pass? The risk is great, but there's money and oil to be made. Should BP be allowed to drill this way? Why/why not?
